There are a few different methods you can use to back up your recipes:
1. Paprika Cloud Sync (recommended, all platforms) - You can create a Paprika Cloud Sync account to automatically sync your recipes, grocery lists, meal plans, and other data to our cloud servers. This service is included with your purchase of Paprika and there are no additional recurring fees. It is platform independent so you can sync your data between the iOS, Android, Mac, and Windows versions of Paprika.
2. Automatic device backups via iTunes (iOS), iCloud (iOS), or Google Drive (Android) - Your application data is automatically backed up whenever you sync your device with iTunes or back up to iCloud. However, if you lose your device or get a new one you'll need to restore your entire device from one of those backups to be able to restore Paprika's data.
3. Computer based backups (Mac or Windows) - If you use a service like Time Machine (Mac) or Windows Backup to regularly backup the contents of your computer, Paprika's data will be automatically included in those backups. Similarly, cloud backup services like Backblaze or Crashplan can also be used to backup your Paprika data.
4. Manual exports - You can always create a manual export of your recipes in the Paprika recipe format. This will create a .paprikarecipes file containing all of your recipes that can be copied to a safe place.
Note: We generally recommend using our Paprika Cloud Sync service as your primary form of backup, then if you get a new device or need to replace an existing device you can simply login to your Paprika account to restore your data. For extra security you can also use (2) or (3) to ensure your data is being backed up a second time.
