Paprika 3 is installed as a separate app on your device, so you can have both Paprika 1 or 2 and Paprika 3 installed at the same time. The recommended method to transfer your recipes to Paprika 3 is to sync them using your Paprika account.
If you already have a Paprika account:
You can transfer your recipes to Paprika 3 by simply logging into your existing Paprika account from Paprika's Settings -> Cloud Sync. Once you log in, your recipes will begin syncing to the new version.
If you don't have an account:
If you have been using Paprika 1 or 2 without a Paprika account, you will need to create a Paprika account in order to sync your data to the new version. To do this, go to Paprika's Settings -> Cloud Sync in your existing version, create a new account, and allow it to fully sync. Then login to the same account in Paprika 3.
Note:
The upgrade process is the same for both Paprika 1 and 2. Once you have verified that your data has been synced to Paprika 3, you can go ahead and uninstall the previous app.
If you are unable to open Paprika 1 or 2:
If you are unable to open Paprika 1 or 2 because iOS tells you "Paprika Needs To Be Updated", follow these instructions.
If you are missing recipes after upgrading:
If you do not see all of your data in Paprika 3 after syncing your account, it's possible that:
1) You might have accidentally logged into a different Paprika account than the one you were originally using. To check this, open Paprika 1 or 2, go to Settings -> Cloud Sync, and check the email address of the original account. Then open Paprika 3 and check the email address there. Make sure both email addresses match exactly.
2). Or, your original version of Paprika might not have been recently synced (most likely due to an expired login/password, or because you logged out of your account). If the earlier version has not been synced in some time, you will be missing all of the changes made since the last sync date. In that case, you will need to re-open Paprika 1 or 2, go to Paprika's Settings -> Cloud Sync, and check the Last Synced date. If it is not recent, press Sync Now and allow it to run a full sync. Once it finishes, repeat the same process in Paprika 3 and the rest of the data should appear.
3) Finally, if you have verified your Paprika account is the same in both versions and both versions have been recently synced, but the recipe count in Paprika 3 is still lower than Paprika 2, the difference may be explained by the Trash category we added in Paprika 3. See the full explanation here.
